This is the first book in the Starting out in Triathlon series.  It gives a basic but comprehensive overview of all the things you need to know about Triathlon.
 
"Starting out in Triathlon - The Swim"

This is the first book looking in more detail at the specific disciplines in a Triathlon. 
In this book Colin talks about preparation for the swim including: the gear you will need, types of swims, race briefing and nutrition.  He then discussed the race from starting waves and types , warm-up, the actual start, drafting and the exit to transition.

If you want to improve your swim leg, then this is the book to read.

 

 "Starting out in Triathlon - The Ride"

The second book in the advanced series looking in more detail at the specific disciplines in a Triathlon. 
In this book Colin talks about preparation for the ride including: the bike, transition setup, bike shoes & Location in transition.  He then discussed the race and includes rules, riding techniques, nutrition, finishing up the bike and entry to transition.

If you want to improve your bike leg, then this is the book to read.

 

"Starting out in Triathlon - The Run"

Continuing the advanced series on specific disciplines in a Triathlon.

 
In this book Colin talks about preparation for the run including: run gear, shoes, laces and transition setup.  He then discussed the run section of the race and covers: pace, rules, finish and post race.

If you want to improve your run leg, then this is the book to read.

 

 "Starting out in Triathlon - The 4th Leg"

Transition is often called "the 4th leg" of a triathlon and it is an equally important area on which to concentrate.

In this book Colin provides a great amount of detail on the way transition works and how you can go about improving this leg in your triathlons

While you are exercising your body is burning calories and sweating fluids and if you are not replacing these then sooner or later you will run into trouble. Following a nutrition program to manage this loss is very important.
